Expanding Frontiers to be a Concierge of NASA Technologies

On June 28, 2021, Expanding Frontiers entered into a Space Act Agreement with NASA’s Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center, officially designating Expanding Frontiers as a Concierge of NASA Technologies for Brownsville and the surrounding region.

This designation allows Expanding Frontiers to serve as a direct link between NASA’s extensive portfolio of technologies and the entrepreneurs who can bring them to market. As a concierge, Expanding Frontiers guides innovators in South Texas through the process of identifying promising NASA technologies, understanding their applications, and building startups that translate advanced research into commercial ventures.

For entrepreneurs in Brownsville and across the Rio Grande Valley, this agreement provides access to innovations that would otherwise remain within research institutions. From materials and robotics to energy systems and aerospace technologies, NASA’s research holds the potential to spark new businesses, create high-quality jobs, and strengthen the region’s role as NewSpace City.

This partnership represents a significant milestone in the growth of the regional innovation ecosystem. By serving as a concierge of NASA technologies, Expanding Frontiers is ensuring that the next wave of discoveries can be transformed into real-world solutions that benefit both the local community and the global marketplace.

Expanding Frontiers remains committed to empowering entrepreneurs and students in the Rio Grande Valley by providing mentorship, resources, and commercialization pathways. With this agreement, the region takes another important step toward becoming a leader in space and energy innovation.
