Expanding Frontiers is proud to announce that Accelerator client Permittivity, LLC has won the grand prize in a global innovation challenge organized by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and the Army Corps of Engineers. The company’s breakthrough leak-detection technology, built on NASA sensor innovations, earned $100,000 in awards and recognition as a leader in protecting critical infrastructure. Expanding Frontiers’ Entrepreneur in Residence Apprenticeship (EIRA) Program graduates dominate the Rafael Munguia Business Plan Pitch Competition which was hosted by the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. 

Expanding Frontiers and Texas A&M International University have signed a Memorandum of Agreement to strengthen the ecosystem of innovation for commercial space in South Texas.

Expanding Frontiers, which was started in Brownsville in 2019, was one of just seven incubator/accelerators across the country to win an award up to $300,000.

The U.S. Department of Energy has selected Expanding Frontiers as a winner of the national EPIC Prize, awarding $50,000 to support our work as a hub for space and energy startups in South Texas.
