Expanding Frontiers Selected as 2025 GAFC Awardee in Capital Formation
Expanding Frontiers is honored to be selected as a 2025 Growth Accelerator Fund Competition (GAFC) awardee under the Capital Formation category of America’s Seed Fund, a U.S. Small Business Administration initiative supporting innovation and high-tech entrepreneurship across the United States.
The Capital Formation category highlights organizations that work to expand investment access for entrepreneurs and small businesses—particularly in regions where early-stage founders face barriers to financial resources. These efforts play an important role in strengthening innovation ecosystems and supporting the growth of emerging technology sectors.

Capital Formation awardees focus on expanding investment access for entrepreneurs and small businesses by:
Creating new funding mechanisms for early-stage innovators
Developing more financial stakeholders within regional innovation ecosystems

How This Award Supports Our Mission
The goals of the Capital Formation category align closely with Expanding Frontiers’ ongoing work in South Texas. Through educational programs, mentorship, and community partnerships, ExF helps broaden understanding of investment pathways, connects innovators and students with industry expertise, and contributes to the development of regional networks that support technology and space-related ventures.
Building on this foundation, Expanding Frontiers will work with entrepreneurs and investors to promote capital literacy across the region. Beginning in 2026, ExF plans to launch a series of Capital Formation Literacy Workshops focused on helping founders and community members better understand funding mechanisms, investment terminology, and practical steps toward accessing capital. Stay tuned for updates as these workshops take shape.
